Tirthankar
Mahaveer Vidya Mandir
A Unit of Veerayatan, Rajgir
Pawapuri, Dist. - Nalanda, Bihar

The Beginning
...
Keeping the tradition, motto and essense of ‘Veerayatan’
viz. ‘Seva, Siksha and Sadhna’ in view,
Acharyashriji, compelled by compassion and sympathy
for the poors and needy undertook the pious act of establishing
Tirthankar Mahavir Vidya Mandir’ at Pawapuri.
With the aim to pull the kids off street and to prepare
them for productive life with Jain values instilled
in them, Acharyaji seeks to pay her hearty tribute to
the Lord. Veerayatan strives to uplift and empower humanity
through humanitarianism (seva), education (shiksha)
and inner development (sadhna).
On 8th of May, 2005, interview for the teaching faculty
by a competent interview board and priliminary admission
test for the students were held.
The inauguration of Tirthankar Mahaveer Vidya Mandir
School at Pawapuri in the district of Nalanda was held
on the auspicious occasion of Akshay Tirtiya on 11th
May, 2005 at Nahar Dharmashala just opposite the Jal
Mandir. Children of our school presented a cultural
programme to the mark the opening ceremony of the school.
It was was well attended by Acharyashri Chandanaji,
other important dignitories and all the Sadhvijis from
Veerayatan. Their gracious presence on the occasion
was heartily acknowledged.
Motto . . .
Acharyashri Chandanaji rightly says that this sacred
village, full of beautiful temples, is in urgent need
of clean, healthy and aesthetic environment. She further
says that instead of building a new temple in the village
why not make the entire village a place of solace, inspiration
and peace. This is possible only through Education.
Veerayatan envison to see there quality educational
institution and young adults full of value and motivation.
There should be quality educational institutions and
human beings in true sense of the word rather than seeing
every where half clad children, illiterate and directionless
youth and neglected undernourished elders.
School
stresses on purity of thoughts and action; seeks to
teach the merits of vegetarianism & ahimsa in all
components of life in accordance with Jain religion.
The goal of education is to nurture responsible, sensitive
and conscious citizens. Our ultimate goal is to see
that children irrespective of caste, creed, religion
and socio-economic status, can reap the benefits of
a first-class education.
The Campus ...
With co-operation, Tirthankar Mahavir Vidya Mandir at
present is being run at Nahar dharmashala, just opposite
the ‘Jal Mandir’, the place where the last
rites of Tirthankar Mahavir was performed.
Enthusiasm to seek knowledge can be judged by the fact
that within a fortnight of its establishment, the school
has more than 250 students.
A piece of seven acres of land has been acquired adjacent
to “Samvasaran Temple”, approximately 35
KM from Veerayatan and 12 Km from district city of Biharsharif
.
The
blue print of the school building and campus has already
been made. The construction for permanent building has
already commenced. As soon as the building is ready,
the school will shift to the new building and thereafter
many new vocational courses will also commence.
