After 2.5 years of
tremendous hard work in tents, semi-permanent structures
at Bhuj, for the rehabilation of earthquake -affected
children, women and unemployed youths, Sadhvijis, volunteers,
and employees of Veerayatan Vidyapeeth under the guidance
of Acharya Chandanaji has successfully shifted its activities
to permanent facilities at Jakhania.
An English medium school created for orphaned or economically
disadvantaged children, catering to 821 students with
vocational training centre, 300 students Hostel facility,
Airconditioned Computer Lab, modern well-equipped kitchen
and dining hall serving 500 children and medical facilities.

Following the devastating
earthquake of January 2001 in Kutch, India, Veerayatan
established a network of educational institutions throughout
the region to care for affected children, women and
adults. Built in 16 acres, based on Gurukul pattern
school in Rudrani provides free education to 256 children
studying here.
